Companionship care

Sometimes, it’s the little things in life that are the most important: having someone to spend time with, a chat over a cup of tea, doing the things you enjoy and sharing experiences.

What is Companionship Care?

Our Companionship Care in Leeds service provides friendship, meaning and connection. It improves well-being and ensures peace of mind for loved ones, particularly when they live further afield. From giving you a hand with the weekly shop, to accompanying you to a hospital appointment or popping out for lunch, our companionship care service is simply about being there for you. It’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t necessarily need care, but would benefit from a bit of support and regular visits from a friendly face.

The frequency, duration and nature of our visits are tailored to your needs and can incorporate any of our other services too.

Your unique package of Companionship Care will be created just for you, and may involve:

Home help and housekeeping

We know home is where you feel most comfortable, so we’re here to provide all the support you need to stay in the place you know and love. Your Wellbeing Worker can assist with cooking, cleaning, and managing your home and finances, whilst also being a friendly face and someone to chat to.

Running errands

Your Wellbeing Worker is there to make life a little easier for you, so that you can focus on doing the things you enjoy. We can support you to pick up your pension, drop things off at the post office or even pop to the local shops.

Shopping

We know the value of being able to have a good browse and choose exactly what you want. Whether you’d like a trip to the White Rose Shopping Centre or support with your weekly food shop, we can assist with that too.

Hobbies and activities

Doing what you enjoy is what makes life worth living, so we take this really seriously. Whether you want to get out and about more, reconnect with a hobby or start doing something new, we’ll support you to make it happen.

Holidays and day trips

We don’t think age should be a barrier to adventure, especially for the young at heart! We can even assist you on holiday, in the UK or abroad, to help you get the most out of the experience.

Driving and chaperoning

We understand getting out and about isn’t always easy. Your Wellbeing Worker can drive you wherever you need to go, whether out to the shops, visiting friends and family, to an appointment, or even for a day out.

Why is companionship important?

Evidence shows that staying social and active is key to ageing well. Yet, as we get older, life tends to slow down and our world and social circles can become smaller. Our loved ones may lead busy lives, with work or family commitments, or they might live too far away to visit regularly. Our Companionship Care in Leeds service helps people stay independent, whilst also making sure they’re safe and well. It counters social isolation, and can act as a pre-emptive step to keeping older adults out of hospital, or the first step towards accepting more comprehensive care in the future.
