There are lots of opportunities in Leeds for adults with learning disabilities to get involved, and because we’re local we know what’s going on in the area: night clubs, social events, art classes, theatre and more. Our social activities are as individual as you, so we’re certain we’ll find something that’s a good fit.
We provide highly individualised support that’s tailored to your needs, strengths and interests, whilst carefully considering any areas of risk. We know everyone is different, so we take the time to get to know you and develop your support around the things you find meaningful and enriching. We’ll focus on activities that suit you best, and give you the perfect level of support to enable you to enjoy them to the fullest.
From day trips to the seaside to watching a film at the cinema, a day out in Leeds or a swim at a local pool, our 1-1 activity service for adults with learning disabilities is about enabling you to do the things you enjoy best. We build strong connections with the people we support – we have fun together and enjoy each other’s company.
Group activities are a great way to meet local people and make new friends, whilst developing existing skills or even learning new ones. From gardening groups to drama clubs, arts and crafts to fitness classes, cooking lessons to language courses, there are hundreds of group activities we can connect you with or arrange on your behalf.
There might be an activity that you already enjoy attending yourself, but you need some support getting there. If this is the case we can simply escort you, promptly and reliably (by car or on the bus), to and from your chosen group.
Getting involved in an activity, whether as part of a group or with 1-1 support, is a great opportunity to learn new skills, raise self-esteem, make new friends and improve quality of life. For some people, it’s also a chance to express ideas and emotions that may be difficult to talk about or communicate.
Our Social Activities support is simply about supporting you to do the things that you enjoy, so you can live the life you want to lead.
